Where

These communities are in between the Conestoga Parkway (#7) and Highway 8 on the west and the Grand River in the East. These communities have ready access to the airport via Victoria St to the north, and to the 401 via the #8 to the south.

Neighbourhoods include Rosemount west of the Stanley Park conservation area, Heritage Park to the east of it, and Stanley Park to the outh of it. The neighbourhoods of Lakner Woods and Centreville are nestled between Idlewood Park and the Chicopee Ski Hill and Conservation Area, and Chicopee Vale and Idlewood are nestled between the hill and the Grand River. This neighbourhood is home to the Grand River Hospital on King St E. These Kitchener subdivisions are popular with families for their well-maintained, average-priced homes and their access to schools, walking trails, community centers, parks, and shopping centers. Further south, and straddling the Grand River is the community of Bridgeport which enjoys Bechtel Park on the west side and Bridgeport Park on the eat side of the Grand.

Schools

The community is served by 11 elementary schools, 1 high school, and 1 public library. Post-secondary education is available at Conestoga College, with a Kitchener campus, a with University of Waterloo, Wilfred Laurier University in nearby Waterloo, and University of Guelph.

Shopping

Kitchener is well served by 2 significant shopping malls and plazas, and has a number of vibrant retail areas including Downtown, and along Victoria Street to the east, and along King Street towards Cambridge.

Recreation

Kitchener's Memorial Auditorium, the Aud Kitchener has 4 performance theatres, 4 cinemas, 6 museums, and two public galleries, For athletes, there are 95 baseball diamonds, 77 soccer/football fields, 68 public tennis courts, 5 indoor and 3 outdoor swimming pools, 2 public and 5 private golf courses. There is the Chicopee Ski Hill on the city's SE corner
